Crowns

A crown is a full-coverage protective restoration for your tooth. There are times where a portion of your tooth may break, the cavity is large enough that your tooth structure becomes compromised, or there is a crack in the tooth. Our doctors will evaluate your unique situation and recommend a crown when needed. The crown is designed to protect the tooth and prevent any further damage.
A crown procedure involves two appointments. At the first appointment, the doctors will create a platform with your tooth on which the crown is placed, and a temporary crown will be made. From there, the doctors will send a digital file of your case to one of our excellent laboratories that will make a permanent crown which custom fits your tooth. At the second appointment, the temporary crown will be removed, followed by trying on the permanent crown for proper fit before it is permanently cemented.

Dental Fillings

Sometimes a cavity will form on a tooth. Dental caries is a disease process that occurs between the interaction of the tooth surface and subsurface with dental plaque; a cavity is the manifestation of the dental caries. There are a variety of reasons that a cavity may form, and Drs. Crandall and Rooney will sit down with you and explain what happened and best practices for how to prevent them in the future.
From there, Drs. Crandall and Rooney are proficient in gentle dentistry that is minimally invasive and as painless as possible! They will take time to address any concerns and ensure that every patient will not feel anything as they work to remove the cavity. After ensuring complete removal of the cavity, a tooth-colored filling will be placed to fill the area and you will be able to leave with a smile!

Bridges

A bridge is an option to replace one or two missing teeth. It involves two crowns—one on either side of the missing space—that connect to a third crown, which replaces the missing space. The process for making a bridge is similar to that of making a crown; the permanent bridge will be made in a laboratory while you are placed in a temporary bridge. The doctors will inform you if this is a good option in replacing a missing space.

Dental Extraction

Sometimes, a tooth breaks beyond the point of restoring or has too much disease. In this case, Dr. Crandall may recommend an extraction. Dr. Crandall has excellent atraumatic and minimally invasive techniques to remove a tooth gently and safely without causing any pain. He can place sutures as needed to aid in healing of the extraction socket.

Dental Implants

Drs. Crandall and Rooney have years of experience restoring implants. An implant is the “post” in the bone; you will see the doctors to get the crown put on top of the post. At times, the doctors will recommend making a temporary crown on top of the implant that will mold and shape the gum tissue so that the permanent crown will look like a natural tooth coming out of your gum tissue!
Implants can also be used to hold dentures in place. Please have a consultation with Dr. Crandall or Dr. Rooney to determine if any treatment like this could be an option for you.

Partial Denture

Sometimes, too many teeth are missing, and a partial denture is needed. A partial is designed to fill the spaces left from missing teeth by passively holding on to existing teeth. The doctors will need to evaluate your overall oral health condition before determining if a partial is a good option to replace missing teeth.

Complete Denture

We offer services to give you teeth if you have none! We make full dentures that you will be able to wear without pain and enjoy smiling with every day. Occasionally, our doctors will recommend that your denture be retained by implants. They will have a consultation with you to determine any needs prior to making a denture.

Specialist Referrals

Drs. Crandall and Rooney will inform you if you need to go to a specialist for a root canal, extraction, gum treatment, implant placement, or other procedure. We have an excellent network of specialists who have worked with us for decades that will take great care of you and communicate well with us regarding your treatment.
